Love of creativity
At school, I was always carrying a video or digital camera. I made my first short film as part of my Film Studies at grammar school in Sandwich which ignited my passion to create. I went on to study Digital Culture and Computer Science at University. Since then, I've worked with both large and small brands, as well has having some of my work featured in local galleries and cinemas.
I primarily shoot with Panasonic digital cameras using stabilisers and gimbals, rather than tripods. This allows me to create a lot of movement in my shots. I also love shooting with DJI products - their drones and gimbals are fantastic and help me get the professional results my clients demand.
Let's get to know each other
Are you my ideal wedding client?
I think it's really important for my couples to share my vision when it comes to capturing their day, both artistically and personally. You're my ideal client if...
• You have a good sense of humour and love to laugh
• You're easygoing with a wild side and up for creative ideas
• Your wedding reflects your personalities
CAA Approved UAV Pilot
I'm now a qualified drone pilot and have flown them for more than 5 years - I love the results and change of scenery from up in the air! I also direct, shoot & edit my films to give my clients the whole video package. I love working alongside other creators, brands, venues and photographers to create quality content. There's nothing better than seeing my client's eyes light up when they see how their brand can be represented on video in ways they never thought possible. I'm also a recommended supplier at some of Kent's top wedding venues.
I live in Broomfield in Kent with my partner Andy, two cats and our dog.
How long have you been shooting weddings?
I shot my first wedding in 2014 for my friend Lauren. I then shot another friend's wedding, and it went from there really - friends of friends, friends of their friends before branching out to people that had come across my work. I work alongside several venues as a recommended supplier, and don't advertise much. Recommendations go a long way!
How many weddings do you do a year?
In between corporate work for brands and businesses, I average about 20-30 weddings a year. In wedding season from April - September, my calendar gets pretty full quickly and I like to keep some months free for a good work/life balance. I'm concentrating on taking on fewer weddings in the future to be able to give even more to my future couples.
What do you wear when filming a wedding?
During a wedding consultation with a couple, they told me that a videographer at their friend's wedding wore a polo shirt & shorts...! My motto is 'dress like a guest' - so I tend to keep it smart casual to keep low-profile and stay as discreet and unobtrusive as possible.
What do you enjoy about shooting weddings?
Well, weddings are the complete opposite end of the scale when compared to promotional and brand videos. It's a story that tells itself - everyone looks amazing, the weather is (usually) great, full of emotion, laughter, tears and memories. I love keeping in touch with my wedding clients. Being such a big part of their big day is something special and I cherish the friendships I make with each one!
